STATEMENT FROM OX. CALIBER UPGRADE

Dear followers and fans of OX OCEANIX® and the FROG300, after having put the question to a vote among all current owners who have purchased it or reserved a unit, and now having the verdict, we proceed to inform you of a very important change -upgrade-, with immediate effect.

MIYOTA® 9075 CALIBER PARASHOCK DETAIL

About our OX® FROG300, the vast majority - excluding those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves from envy - worldwide speak very, very well of it. It is also true that it generates hype and continues to do so. But if we have to highlight "a but" from all watch enthusiasts, fans, and experts worldwide, it is and has been the movement, considered simple and not up to the FROG300.

THE ACHILLES' HEEL HAD ALWAYS BEEN THE AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT, CONSIDERED SIMPLE ALTHOUGH SOLID. NOW, WE LEVEL UP!

The NH34a caliber is great, reliable, and comes with advantages such as low maintenance and lifelong replacement from Seiko Group, all at a reasonable price. At the time when OX OCEANIX® Watches decided to switch from the solar caliber to the automatic one with a GMT dual time zone function, speaking of 'made in Japan,' there was no other option available in the market. Just later, in mid-late 2022, another really valid option appeared with the Miyota brand. However, they did not include it in their catalog as they only supply it to selected brands like Ikepod®, LIP®, Kurono®, Bulova®, Citizen® series 8, or Campanola®, among very few others.

As mentioned before, after reaching a consensus among the FROG300 community, the decision has been made to proceed with the caliber change, opting for the also excellent Japanese mechanical movement MIYOTA® 9075 for several reasons that we explain below:

PARASHOCK AND BALANCE WHEEL DETAIL

-The Miyota® 9075 'True GMT' is a superior caliber, not only because its cost is more than double that of the NH34a, which clearly explains its superiority, but also because of its features and, primarily, how it works and readjusts the time zone, as well as its superior standard time accuracy.

The unanimous decision has been easy for two reasons: the watch owner's knowledge of watchmaking and because OX OCEANIX® will make the effort not to update the selling price until the end of 2024. So, these two factors have been crucial, and the Miyota® 9075 plays in a much superior league.

OX® FROG300 9075 MOVEMENT UPGRADED

FEATURES OF THE NEW MOVEMENT

We transition from the 21,000 vibrations per hour (3Hz) of the TMI® NH34a caliber to the 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) of the MIYOTA® 9075 caliber, improving time precision. Other features are very similar, with a power reserve of 42 hours, 24 rubies, etc.

Where there is a radical change is in how it operates: the time adjustment called 'True GMT' or 'Travelers GMT' allows the change and adjustment of time when switching zones to be done quickly by jumping in one-hour increments on the main hand, without stopping the watch or interfering with the 24-hour hand. In contrast, in the NH34, the adjustment was the classic minute-by-minute for both the main hour and the second GMT time zone.

IN OTHER WORDS, AND NOT LESS IMPORTANT, THE OX FROG300 WILL OPERATE IN THE SAME WAY AS A ROLEX GMT, OMEGA SEAMASTER GMT, OR A GRAND SEIKO GMT, AND AT THE SAME FREQUENCY (BEATS) AND BUILD QUALITY.

THE FROG300 REMAINS UNCHANGED

The watch itself remains the same in terms of dial, finishes, and dimensions, but its heart is undoubtedly now better: it is at a much higher level.

NEW DELIVERY DATE

All materials and information referring to the caliber (website, PDF catalog, user manuals, etc.) will soon be updated, as well as the delivery date, which, due to production reasons, is set for JUNE 2024. We'll have to be a bit more patient, friends!

THE SAME CURRENT PRICE WILL BE MAINTAINED UNTIL THE END OF 2024

With the new True GMT movement and due to pending reservations, the OX® FROG300 will maintain its sale price until the end of 2024, set at 1,430 USD for versions with Grade 4 Titanium case, 1,560 USD for the special limited NASA version, and 9,100 USD for the version with an 18K / 750 Gold case alloyed with Grade 3 Titanium. Afterward, it will be priced from 1,696 USD for the Grade 4 Titanium case version.

WHILE YOU SEE THIS NOTICE, THE WEBSITE WILL NOT BE 100% UPDATED REGARDING THE MOVEMENT

A NECESSARY UPGRADE TO STRENGTHEN CONCEPTS

For us, it is undoubtedly good news when our goal is to write modern watchmaking history "of the good kind" and to satisfy the most perfectionist. Now, inside and outside our FROG300, there is a very powerful balance, maintaining or even improving the commitment to offer the best and most useful when it comes to tool watches or professional diver's watches, such as the OX® FROG300 Pro Diver’s.

All the best!
