These days we were in Hong Kong, preparing everything to be able to have the functional samples - or in other words, a pre-series, in October-November.
Yes, initially, we planned to have functional samples by early October (or late September), but given the complexity of the watch - beyond the reliable TMI automatic movement, the FROG300 doesn't use any parts that we can find in the current industry and market - it won't be possible, and that's not a bad thing: it's further evidence that we are doing things perfectly right. Furthermore, the good news is that the unit delivery date, April 2024, remains unchanged!!!
HONG KONG in full swing!
Hong Kong is a spectacular region, full of many (some unimaginable) contrasts, and a global economic powerhouse with a massive focus on technology and production. The people are friendly and highly committed, setting an example of organized progress. Among various details, they take climate change and the environment very seriously, something vital to ensure a sustainable future for all of us and a world where living is still possible.
The famous 'carbon footprint' (emissions), to which they are already committed as a society through tangible actions, will also have a strong commitment in our OX® FROG300, especially in production and logistics, as our watches will be born, one by one, in HK!
THE ANECDOTE
Proof of that organization and commitment was the Black Rainstorm experienced, in which a simple government announcement caused the entire population to stay in their homes for a day, with stores, businesses, and government buildings closed.
Seeing the streets and avenues deserted on Hong Kong Island, without the usual exaggerated daily hustle and bustle, and under the rain, is a sensation almost unique!
